The age-old question: Which IDE should you use? Well, the one you work best with!
I’m a longtime and happy PyCharm user, but sometimes I look jealously at Visual Studio Code for its devcontainer and Jupyter Notebook support. Then I realize I’d miss some of the bread-and-butter features and workflows that, for me, are still unmatched in PyCharm. Anyway, I found a comparison of some Python IDEs for those who haven’t had the chance to test them all out: www.infoworld.com/article/2…

Today was election day in Austria, and the online streaming service (#ORFon) of the Austrian public broadcasting agency (#ORF) is #down. If you’re curious how such a failure could be prevented, this is exactly what auto-scaling is for—automatically covering seasonal or event-based load peaks.
A quick test for crossposting from micro.blog to the new LinkedIn RSS feed aggregator. Let’s see how this works with an image. Crossposting directly to LinkedIn with images doesn’t work as expected.

Curious to see this year’s selection of hot topics in software development especially in the area of web development at the WeAreDevelopers world congress. Browsing through the program, I noticed a lot of AI topics—no surprise there—Kubernetes/Cloud Native, Rust, WebAssembly, and more. Let’s see :)
Arrived at Berlin for the WeAreDevelopers World Congress. Looking forward to some inspiring talks and workshops! #webdev #devops #wearedevs

Disclaimer, this is highly subjective but the more I see the challenges developers face with Spring Boot, the more I appreciate Django. I mean I always preferred Django compared to Symfony/Laravel, Pyramid, Node.js and others but Spring boot looks really likes it sucks out the energy from developers. Is this just my impression or does anybody else feel that way?
Today is conference day. Freiräume (Un)conference is happening today and tomorrow in Graz, Austria. It’s all about New Work, agile and management. Not a tech-conference but still one of my favorites.
Just because your web app has a high available k8s infrastructure doesn’t mean it can’t easily become unavailable due to small mistakes. See here: dev.to/glasskube… That’s one reason why conducting a post-mortem analysis is crucial.
Sometimes it just takes a little time. Simplified our config and secrets mgmt (outside if k8s) after reflecting the last 10 years with it to just ~10 lines of simple bash script, no ext dependencies and easy integration of hcp vault. Interested in it? Then I may write a short blog post about it.

Twitter/X crosspost from micro.blog - try #3
Well, Twitter/X crossposting with IFTTT based on help.micro.blog/t/cross-p… not working yet. Try #2
If everything went right this message was automatically posted to Bluesky, Mastodon, Twitter/X and LinkedIn. Thx to micro.blog and a little IFTTT magic. As this service fragmentation is not going away we have to deal with it somehow.
Finally, hello world from my own account :-) Thx @help for resolving the issue so fast. Looking forward to my new home for distributing to my social media channels.
